The bottle of the present invention is a bottle formed into a bottomed cylinder from a synthetic resin material, a bottom wall section of the bottom section comprising a ground-contacting section positioned in the external peripheral edge, an upright peripheral wall section extending upward as a continuation of the bottle-radially inner side of the ground-contacting section, an annular movable wall section protruding bottle-radially inward from the top end section of the upright peripheral wall section, and an inverted peripheral wall section extending upward as a continuation of the bottle-radially inner side of the movable wall section. The movable wall section is designed to be free to rotate about a portion connecting with the upright peripheral wall section so as to move the inverted peripheral wall section upward. The upright peripheral wall section extends so as to be progressively inclined farther bottle-radially inward from the ground-contacting section toward the portion connecting with the movable wall section, and the angle of inclination is 10 degrees or less toward the axis of the bottle. |
