<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing abnormal sound generating between an image carrier and a cleaning blade, slipping of toner, and deterioration of a cleaning blade and an intermediate transfer belt or the like. <P>SOLUTION: Image carrier drive means 110 that drives an image carrier carrying a toner image is controlled by image carrier drive control means 120. Lubricant application means is provided so as to achieve lubrication when a foreign substance on the image carrier is removed by a cleaning device. The lubricant application means is driven by lubricant application drive means 111 controlled by lubricant application control means 123. The lubricant application control means 123 detects a variation width of the control in a given sampling period while the image carrier drive control means 120 controls to drive the image carrier at a given speed, and controls the lubricant application drive means 111 to obtain an application amount of the lubricant corresponding to the detected variation width of the control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
