<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of a vertical streak-like image defect due to uneven scraping of the surface of an image carrier or a chipping of the edge part of a cleaning blade, and to suppress the generation of a cyclic streak-like image defect caused by the cleaning blade coming into contact with the image carrier which is in a rotation stop state. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is capable of executing a control sequence in which rotation of a photoreceptor drum 2 is stopped after forming an image and after an elapse of a predetermined time since the stop of the rotation the photoreceptor drum 2 is rotated in the same direction as when the image is formed, and is stopped. The image forming apparatus comprises a motor controller 302 which detects a torque amount applied to the rotating shaft of the photoreceptor drum 2 and a CPU 100 which determines the aforementioned time according to the torque amount detected by the motor controller 302. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
