<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve economical feasibility and safety of a modular system for a battery. <P>SOLUTION: A modular system 1 for a battery 2 of an automobile, especially for a main battery includes a battery housing 3, and at least one battery module 6. Both of at least one first battery module 4 having an n-number of battery cells, and at least one other battery module 6, in which the number of battery cells is larger, n+x, or smaller, n-x, are arranged on the battery housing.
