<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable with a press-winding tape effectively inhibiting movement of an optical fiber and enhancing a holding power of the optical fiber in the cable. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical cable, an optical fiber bundle 13 including a plurality of coated optical fibers or a plurality of optical fiber ribbons is housed inside a slot groove 11a of a slot rod 11. An opening of the slot groove 11a is closed by a press-winding tape 14, and a casing 15 coats outside thereof. The press-winding tape 14 includes a resin foam layer 14b elastically compressible on an inner surface side of a tape base material 14a in thickness direction. The resin foam layer contacts and presses on the optical fiber bundle. The resin foam layer 14b of the press-winding tape is preferably 1 mm - 5 mm thick. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
