<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus for making poultry find a food and water for the first time of their lives. <P>SOLUTION: The invention is directed to a lighting system for an avian house including a feeding or watering system 20 and a source of LED lighting that emits light having a color selected from the group consisting of white, blue, or green, wherein the LED lighting is attached to the feeding or watering system 20 at a height which corresponds to eye level to of the avian species to be fed or watered.
