<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rescue device which allows a person to climb a wall surface by oneself without a help of a third person. <P>SOLUTION: A safety device includes a ladder 1 to climb up and down and a guide rail 3 to which a float having continuously mounted float balls is attached. Because the float moves along the guide rail and is always positioned on the surface of water, a fallen sufferer can move along the float, reach the ladder and land by oneself.
