The e.m. valves (8.1, 7.2) in the brake pressure lines (4.1,3.2) to the rear wheel brakes (6.1, 6.2) are so constructed and connected that any defect or breakdown of the antilock control causes at least one (pref. the offside one) of the brakes to be isolated from the source of pressure (1). The valves are based pref. on combinations of two-two-day magnetic valves, but three/three-way valves are an alternative. ADVANTAGE - Directional stability is maintained even in the event of failure of antilock control, without drawbacks inherent in use of braking force distributors.
