<p>PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to anchor a columnar protrusion for dislocation prevention in a contact hole, thereby obtaining a good image. CONSTITUTION: A contact hole(111) is formed on passivation films(107,109) in a thin film transistor(TFT) substrate(100). The contact hole connects TFT and a pixel electrode(108). A columnar spacer(220) and a columnar protrusion(210) are prepared on an opposite substrate(200). The columnar spacer secures a cell gap. The columnar protrusion prevents dislocation.
