The box (1) has a rectangular-shaped housing (5) made of an insulating substance, and comprising input- and output sides feed-through openings (8-10) for guiding electrical lines (2-4). The housing includes two interconnectable housing parts such as base part (6) and cover part (7). An electrical-conductive contact body (11) is arranged in the housing and provided with connection points (12-17) for respective conductors (18-23) of the electric lines. The openings are formed as open-edged recesses of a wall of the base part, where the recesses are separately lockable by the cover part. The connection points are connected with indicating elements such as LEDs. An independent claim is also included for an electrical distribution system.
