PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to improve the brightness and light receiving efficiency of a light guide plate of an LED. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(123) irradiates light from the rear side of the liquid crystal panel(110). A light source(129a) is arranged in at least one side of the light guide plate. The light source is mounted on a printed circuit board(129b). A light source housing(127) is formed on the printed circuit board. An opening(127a) opens the region for mounting the light source housing. The thickness of the light source housing is thicker than that of the light source.
