Differential gradient thickness medical gloves

A medical glove for preventing needle stick and other sharp injuries has differential gradient thickness and comprises first, second, third and fourth areas of first, second, third and fourth thicknesses respectively, wherein said thicknesses are different. The glove may comprise areas of single thickness 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and areas of double thickness 7, 10, 11 with gradual thickening between the areas. Preferably, areas requiring tactile sensation have a single wall thickness and areas most prone to injury have a double wall thickness. The distal phalanx of the thumb 1 and fingers 2, 3, 4, 5 of the glove may be single thickness, while the medial phalanx of the fingers 10, proximal phalanx of the fingers 11 and proximal phalanx of the thumb 7 may be double thickness. The palmer 6 and cuff 22 areas may be single thickness with a thin synthetic membrane attached to give extra protection. The gloves may be latex, nitrile, vinyl, silicone, neoprene or polyisoprene.
