PURPOSE: A dual-energy X-ray imaging apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to implement a clear image by setting a second energy based on the X-ray image having a first energy. CONSTITUTION: An X-ray generation part(10) successively irradiates the X-ray having a first energy and the X-ray having a second energy. The X-ray generation part supplies power source to a power supply unit(20). A detection unit(30) detects the X-ray penetrating a test object and changes it to an electric signal. A host computer receives the electric signal from the detection unit. The host computer determines a second energy using the brightness of the X-ray image of the first energy.
