<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire improved in pebble biting preventive performance while reducing columnar resonance sound in travelling by making a tread pattern proper. <P>SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire is furnished with at least two pieces of peripheral direction grooves extending in the tire peripheral direction and a rib type land part partitioned and formed by the peripheral direction grooves on a tread part tread, and the rib type land part has a resonator opened in a road surface grounding area to reduce noise generated by resonance in a pipe formed by the peripheral direction grooves and a road surface. The resonator is furnished with two pieces of branch groove parts branched and extended from each of two pieces of the peripheral direction grooves and an air chamber part connected to the branch groove parts and an area of a cross section orthogonal to the extending direction of which is larger than those of the branch grooves.
