PURPOSE: A method for producing an aluminum matrix composite material and an aluminum matrix composite material prepared by the same are provided to stably prepare an aluminum composite material strengthened with titanium carbide and alumina while maintaining the temperature of molten aluminum at 950°C or lower. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing an aluminum matrix composite material comprises the steps of: preparing precursor in which aluminum powder, titanium oxide powder, carbon powder, and an activating material are mixed, adding the precursor to molten aluminum, and casting the molten aluminum, wherein the activating material includes one of copper oxide, cobalt oxide, manganese oxide, nickel oxide, ferric oxide, vanadium oxide, chromium oxide, and tungsten oxide that reacts with one or more of the powder. |
