PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication network system reducing power consumption as the entire system by adaptively updating an intermittent cycle on the basis of the power consumption of a terminal during past communication, and also to provide a wireless terminal, a wireless communication method and a wireless communication program. SOLUTION: The wireless communication network system comprises a plurality of wireless terminals which perform wireless data communication, and performs communication by packetized data directly with one of the wireless terminals or with all other wireless terminals through one or more other wireless terminals. The wireless terminal has a function of controlling the intermittent cycle, analyzes the transmission/reception state of the wireless terminal for a preset period, and extends or shortens a sleep period on the basis of an analyzed result.
