PURPOSE: A semiconductor light emitting device is provided to prevent light absorbed in a branch electrode by blocking light generated in an active layer using a light absorption preventing layer made of transmissive materials. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of semiconductor layers include an active layer(30). The active layer generates light by recombination of electrons and holes. A first electrode supplies one of electrons and holes to the first semiconductor layer. A nonconductive reflection layer(91) is formed on the second semiconductor layer. A branch electrode(93) is formed between the plurality of semiconductor layers and the nonconductive reflection layer.
