<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtration apparatus with low exchange frequency of a filter. <P>SOLUTION: The filter is mainly formed of a cylindrical filter 2 which is formed of a knitted stretchable yarn so as to be freely extended/contracted and which separates solid particles K included in liquid G to be filtered, a filter support 3 having a passage opening, on the inside or the outside of which the cylindrical filter 2 is mounted, and a filter case 4 which accommodates the filter support 3 with its longitudinal direction directed in a vertical direction. The filter case 4 is provided with a case body 41, a freely detachable upper cover 43 which covers the upper opening of the case body 41, a support supporting part 44 for supporting the filter support 3, an inflow port 45 for guiding the liquid G to be filtered inside, an outflow port 46 which is provided below the inflow port 45 and makes a filtrate E flow outside, and a discharge port 47 which is provided below the outflow port 46 and discharges solid particles K outside.
