<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stapler that reliably bends a staple legs inside. <P>SOLUTION: The stapler includes: a pair of clinchers 20L and 20R bending the staple legs penetrating through paper sheets; a clincher holder 21 supporting the clinchers 20L and 20R; a pair of clincher links 22L and 22R guiding a movement up and down of the clincher holder 21 and also guiding a rotation and movement in a direction for separating and contacting the clinchers 20L and 20R; and a clincher receiver 23 pushing up the clinchers 20L and 20R by the up and down operation of the clincher holder 21.
