<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrophotography, achieving both of good low temperature fixability and chargeability in under high temperature and high humidity conditions and having excellent heat-resistant storage property, and to provide a production method of the toner. <P>SOLUTION: The toner for electrophotography is a core-shell type toner comprising: a core containing a crystalline polyester (a) obtained by condensation polymerization of a 4-12C α,ω-alkanediol with a 8-12C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and a release agent having a melting point of 60 to 90°C; and a shell comprising a grafted polymer composed of a side chain segment (A1) formed of a polyester resin and a main chain segment (A2) formed of an addition polymerization resin. A weight ratio [(A1)/(A2)] of the side chain segment (A1) to the main chain segment (A2) ranges from 95/5 to 55/45.
