<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mainly improve the design of the inside portion of a character scale area. <P>SOLUTION: A transparent member 16 having a hole part 15 coaxial to a pointer shaft hole 4 is attached to the inside of the character scale area 6 of a character plate 2. The hole part 15 includes a rotor 17 rotatable separately from a pointer shaft 5. The rotor 17 includes an exit part 18 capable of emitting light from the hole part 15 in the radial direction of the transparent member 16.
