The spindle nut assembly (10) has a spindle nut (16) that is formed such that the spindle nut is displaced in radial direction from a position into another position. A threaded area (22) of inner thread of the spindle nut is provided in engagement with an external thread (14) of a spindle (12) in the former position. An inner thread of the spindle nut is arranged at the outer thread of the spindle in engagement free manner. The spindle nut is acted in the former position with a contact force for pressing the threaded area at the external thread of the spindle. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a coupling device with a wear adjustment device; and (2) a method for mounting or axial displacement of a spindle nut assembly.
