<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for discharging an absorbent article, while preventing a non-defective absorbent article from being discharged together with a defective absorbent article when the defective absorbent article is discharged. <P>SOLUTION: This method for discharging an absorbent article includes the steps of: detecting a defective region of the absorbent article PD including a defect part of the absorbent article PD, and the type of defects in the defective region, by identifying the shape of the absorbent article PD in the middle of a manufacturing line 10; deciding the absorbent article PD to be discharged, on the basis of the result of detecting the defective region and the type of defects; and removing, from the manufacturing line, the absorbent article PD decided in the deciding step, and then discharging the absorbent article PD in the middle of the manufacturing line.
