<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for securing high coupling efficiency even if a radiation angle of a Laser Diode (LD) has variations in a configuration in which the LD and a deflection mirror are mounted on a slider. <P>SOLUTION: The optically assisted magnetic head comprises: a slider which has one surface and an end face provided at one end in a prescribed direction of the one surface, floats with respect to a recording medium, and relatively moves according to rotation of the recording medium; a light source which is fixed to the one surface to emit light in the prescribed direction; a light guide which is provided in the slider, receives light from the light source by a light incident surface located at one end in an axis direction perpendicular to both of a thickness direction along the prescribed direction and a width direction perpendicular to the thickness direction, and guides the light toward the recording medium located on the other end side in the axis direction; and a reflection surface which faces both of the light source and the light incident surface, has an optical power Px in the width direction and an optical power Py in the thickness direction, has the optical power Px and Py satisfying 0<Px<Py, and reflects and collects the light from the light source toward the light incident surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
