<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for determining appropriateness of a calculated pulse rate. <P>SOLUTION: In a pulse rate monitor 1, a pulse rate calculation part 120 calculates the pulse rate of a test subject. A pulse rate appropriateness determination part 160 determines appropriateness of the calculated pulse rate, based on whether the calculated pulse rate calculated by the pulse rate calculation part 120 is included in a given window or not.
