<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for detecting analytes. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of particles, each of which is coated with a capture agent having an affinity for an analyte, is combined with a sample to form a plurality of analyte-particle complexes. A system of the present invention also includes a transport means for transporting the sample to a sensor surface, and optionally a magnetic field inducing means arranged to generate a magnetic field at and adjacent to the sensor surface.
