<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device capable of appropriately determining an operation input that allows suppressing occurrence rate of false recognition despite being intuitive and simple, and causes less burden for an operator even in a long-time operation. <P>SOLUTION: A display 111 is disposed in front of an operator 102, and the operator 102 can operate, within ranges set at predetermined lateral positions between the operator and the display 111, considering that a shape of fingers or the like may be an object of an operation determination. The operation input device related to the present invention, as described hereinbelow, can input a position determination and an operation determination into the system by separately moving a right hand 114 and a left hand 115, at the left/right side of the display 111 viewing from the operator 102.
