The present invention relates to a method for producing float glass, including a step in which molten glass is cooled on molten tin inside a float bath while being made to flow in a predetermined direction, and is moulded into a strip-shape, wherein the atmosphere on the molten glass is a hydrogen gas-containing reducing atmosphere which includes additional substances comprising sulphur or chlorine, the concentration of additional substances in the atmosphere being 1 mg/Nm3 or greater over at least part of the molten glass.
