<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building which allows acceleration applied to the building during earthquake to be reduced and eliminates necessity for consideration of a special arrangement allowing for large deformation in a building exterior, equipment piping, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A building includes a vibration control joint with a rigidity lower than that of concrete and an allowable shear deformation larger than that of concrete, which lies in a part of column and/or wall made of reinforced concrete or steel-reinforced concrete, so that the horizontal rigidity of a column and/or wall is reduced and the interlayer horizontal displacement of the floor during earthquake is reduced to 1/100 or lower of the floor height. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
