<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of image reading at a high speed with high accuracy without damaging printed matter or a contact glass while conveying the printed matter at a stable speed. <P>SOLUTION: There is prepared a configuration in which a cylindrical contact glass rotationally driven as a conveyance roller is provided as a part of an optical system.
