A method for processing seismic data related to a subsurface of a body of water includes receiving 2600 vertical and radial components of particle velocity (e.g. from a geophone or accelerometer), and optionally a hydrophone component (3100, fig 31). A radon transform transforms 2602 the input data into the tau-apparent slowness domain. Primary signals are separated from ghosts signals based on the vertical and radial components by calculating upgoing wavefields 2604 as a fist combination of the transformed vertical and radial components multiplied by a scaling factor, and calculating the downgoing wavefields 2606 as a second combination of the transformed components multiplied by the scaling factor. An inverse radon transform is used 2608 to determine up-going and down-going wave fields in a time-distance domain. A weighting matrix may be applied to the radon transformed vertical and radial components, and to the hydrophone component.
|
