<p>The support (1) has profile elements (6-9) form-fittingly connected with each other, where the support is partially made of surface-polished ceramic material, glass ceramic and cordierite. A support surface (5) for a food container e.g. pan, is partially made of metal and made by fingers (6A-9A) that converge in a crossing point for forming the support surfaces over gas burners. The fingers are provided with a metal strip for forming a surface support, where the respective finger is designed as part of an L-shaped profile that includes legs.
