PURPOSE: A host device, an image reading device, an image reading method thereof, and a computer-readable recording medium thereof are provided to efficiently remove moire generated in the scanning of a half-toning printed manuscript at low resolution by using moire related information inputted by a user. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(205) increases optical scan resolution of an image reading device according to moire related information. The control unit performs scan work according to the determined optical scan resolution by the control of the image reading device. A communication interface unit(202) receives a scan image scanned at the optical scan resolution from the image reading device. A filtering unit(203) removes a half tone screen pattern of the received scan image. A sampling unit(204) samples the scan image with the optical scan resolution.
