PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet metal processing method for processing and forming various kinds of sheets which are different in the arrangement structure of a dimple without exchanging a die at a low ost. SOLUTION: This sheet metal processing method is provided with: a carry-in stage where a belt-like metallic sheet 1 is carried in a forming machine 10 in which a plurality of dimple working means 11 consisting of a pair of an upper punch and a lower die are regularly arranged in a matrix and mutual intervals are changeable; a first dimple forming stage where first dimples D are worked and formed on the belt-like metal sheet by dimple working means F1, F2, F3 in the front row of the forming machine 10; a pitch conveying means where the belt-like metal sheet 1 is conveyed at a desired pitch; a positioning stage the belt-like metal sheet 1 is positioned and fixed by fitting the punches of the dimple working means R1, R2, R3 of the rear row of the forming machine into the previously formed dimples, a dimple forming stage where dimples D are worked and formed on the belt-like metal sheet 1 by the dimple forming means F1, F2, F3 in the front row of the forming machine 10; a repeating stage where a series of the stages of the pitch conveying stage, the positioning stage and the dimple forming stage are repeated; and a cutting stage where the belt-like metal sheet 1 on which the dimples D are successively formed is cut into a required shape.
