CONNECTOR FOR HEATER

A connector for a heater is provided to remove snow and ice accumulated on an inlet strut placed in an inlet case located in front of a fan of a gas turbine engine. A connector(38) included in a heater system(28) for an inlet strut(26) is provided. The connector includes a main body having a tapered front end(34) and a back end(36) corresponding to the front end. A plurality of front electric terminals is formed on the outer face of the tapered front end. A plurality of rear electric terminals is formed on the back end of the main body. The read electric terminals are electrically connected to the front electric terminals. The front electric terminals electrically come into contact with a plurality of electric contacts connected to heater elements(32) formed in a heater mat(30). The heater mat completely envelops the connector. The heater mat is formed in a rigid outer cover.
