PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and control method are provided to smoothly display various display functions in stream processing. CONSTITUTION: A signal reception unit(11) receives an image signal including a first and a second stream. An image processing unit(12) processes the first stream and the second stream. A control unit(15) converts the first stream or the second stream in order to match an attribute of the first stream with an attribute of the second stream. The control unit displays the image by controlling the image processing unit based on the converted first and second stream.
