<p>PURPOSE: An image element, a driving method thereof, a method for manufacturing the image element, and an electric device are provided to secure capacity, and to reduce the number of processes by forming additional capacity on a wiring layer. CONSTITUTION: An image element comprises a plurality of pixels(41). Each pixel comprises a photoelectric conversion unit, an accumulating unit, a capacity unit, and a connection unit. The photoelectric conversion unit is placed in the pixel, and generates electric charges. The accumulating unit comprises predetermined capacity, and stores the electric charges from the photoelectric conversion unit. The capacity unit is separately placed from a silicon substrate through an inter-layer insulating film. The connection unit is separately placed from the silicon substrate through the inter-layer insulating film, and connects the accumulating unit to the capacity unit.
