PURPOSE: An HT(High Throughout) station protecting method and apparatus thereof are provided to protect HT transmission when legacy transmission and HT transmission of other decomposability are existed. CONSTITUTION: An AP(Access Point)(500) transmits an association message including a capability IE(Information Element). The capability IE indicates AP support for STBC(Space-Time Block Code) transmission. HT STA(Stations)(4001-400N) receive the association message. The association message is a request message.
