#CMT# #/CMT# The unit has two energy storage modules comprising two prismatic storage cells i.e. electrochemical cells. A lid (101) covers a common side surface of the modules. Contact elements (102) electrically interconnect the two modules and are arranged on an inner side of the lid such that an electrical interconnection between the two modules is separable during opening of the lid. The modules are electrically connected with each other in series or parallel by the lid. The modules accommodate a housing that is made of an aluminum die casting process. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a high voltage storage unit for supplying power to a motor car. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# High voltage storage unit i.e. battery, for supplying power to a drive of a motor car.
