<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery unit which has excellent heat dissipation properties without increasing the number of members. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of secondary batteries are housed in a box-like case having a front surface, a rear surface, a first side surface, a second side surface, a first main surface, and a second main surface. A first heat transfer face is provided on one of the first and second main surfaces of the case. A second heat transfer face is formed on at least one of the first and second side surfaces of the case continuously with the first heat transfer face. Insulating faces are formed on the front surface, the rear surface, the other of the first and second main surfaces, and an inner surface of the second heat transfer face.
