A dust collector and a steam and vacuum cleaner are provided to extend the replacing or cleaning period of a main filter by installing an auxiliary filter unit to the dust collector. A dust collector for a steam and vacuum cleaner comprises a dust container(210), a cover, a main filter unit(250), and an auxiliary filter unit(260). The dust container includes a dust chamber, an inlet, and an outlet. The cover is configured to cover the top of the dust container. The main filter unit installed to the outlet of the dust container. The auxiliary filter unit is installed in the dust chamber. One side of the auxiliary filter unit is supported by a partition(270) which divides the main filter unit and the dust chamber. The other side of the auxiliary filter unit is supported by a support(273) which is installed in the dust chamber.
