The arrangement (1) has a stowage box flap (4) pivotable around a pivotal axis (3) such that the flap closes a stowage box (5) in a position and opens the box in another position. An over-latching mechanism (6) is in an inactive condition in case of the normal opening and closing of the flap. The mechanism is locked in a closed direction when the flap is closed and during accidental acceleration of the flap such that the mechanism locks the flap in the closed position. The flap comprises a deformation element (11) i.e. seal, deforming the flap in the closed direction.
