A backlight module and a liquid crystal display device. The liquid crystal display device uses the backlight module. The backlight module comprises a back plate (1) and a heat dissipation plate (2) locked to the back plate (1). The backlight module is further provided with at least one pressing plate (3). The pressing plate (3) is locked to the heat dissipation plate (2) and the back plate (1) and is used for pressing against the heat dissipation plate (2). Due to the addition of the pressing plate (3) on the heat dissipation plate (2), some places on the heat dissipation plate (2) without being locked are also under pressure so as to be attached to the back plate (1) tightly, thereby reducing thermal resistance caused by large gap. As a result, the heat dissipation plate (2) can transfer heat to the back plate (1) more quickly, so as to reduce temperature in the backlight cavity.
