A rechargeable battery comprises an electrode assembly including a plurality of positive electrode plates, a plurality of negative electrode plates and a plurality of separators. The said electrode plates and separators being arranged to form a stack; and a case, in which the electrode assembly is accommodated. Each separator comprises a separation portion located adjacent at least one of the positive and negative electrode plates in the stack and an extension portion that extends beyond the stack. The said extension portions are gathered together, with each extension portion being adhered to at least one other extension portion via an adhesion portion thereof. |
