<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a rotary spherical body for display used in a variable display device for play. <P>SOLUTION: In forming two hollow hemispherical shell bodies 2a and 2b, an annular contracted recess, contracted along the circumferential direction with the same depth as the thickness of the shell body, is formed in an opening 6 of one shell body 2a, and an opening of the other shell body 2b facing the shell body 2a is fitted into the contracted recess to be integrally connected and assembled to the spherical body 2. On the other hand, a cylindrical display body, which is made of a shrink film and which has symbols displayed on the surface, is formed and put on the spherical body 2. After that, the shrink film is heated and contracted to be closely stuck on the surface of the spherical body 2. At the same time, the two shell bodies 2a and 2b are brought together by utilizing the thermal contraction of the film to be integrally connected to each other.
