<p>A tension member is provided to protect tension elements from a mechanical process and to improve the function of corrosion prevention additionally. A tension member(5) for a building, as a diagonal rope for a cable-stayed bridge, includes a pipe-shaped cladding(8) placed along a vertical shaft(9) of the tension member, and one or more tension elements(10) composed of one bundle of reinforcing bars including many steel wires to receive the load existing in a building, then to transfer to the ground via a bridge tower, wherein a free residual cross section(11) exists on the lower area to form a cavity which penetrates the tension member in the longitudinal direction because the tension elements do not fill the entire cross section of the pipe-shaped cladding, a filling body(12) is formed in the area of the free residual cross section to be extended all over the length of a longitudinal section of the tension member in the axial direction and provided with a deformable cover(13) made of synthetic resins reinforced by textiles, and the filling body is filled with a filling medium made of loose particles to fill up the free residual cross section with the filling body through the entire vertical section of the tension member.</p> |
