PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method of batteries which determines the goodness/badness of a battery using the terminal voltage differenceΔV between the terminal voltage V1 before aging of the battery and the terminal voltage V2 after aging thereof, and which discriminates defects caused by micro short circuit and removes defective batteries with high precision. SOLUTION: The first aging is performed under the conditions of an environmental temperature of 45°C to 60°C and a period of 2 days to 1 week; and the second aging is performed under the conditions of an environmental temperature of 15°C to 30°C and a period of 2 days to 2 weeks. On the basis of an average valueΔVA ofΔV, for every lot unit in the inspection, varying due to influences including environmental temperature, a reference valueΔVB obtained by assuming a terminal voltage descending amount due to micro short circuit of a defective battery in which micro short circuit occurs is set as an absolute value;ΔVA-ΔVB is calculated for every lot unit in the inspection; and a battery which exhibitsΔV smaller than the value ofΔVA-ΔVB is determined as a defective battery.
