PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of a movable mechanism in keeping the liquid level in an ink tank constant that it fails to perform a stable supply over a long period because of deterioration caused by the period of use, the frequency of the use or the environment. SOLUTION: An ink supply unit 101 is provided with an ink tank 102 which stores ink for supplying ink to a recording head 34 and a tank storing container 104 which constitutes a tank storing means for storing the ink tank 102 with a fluid 103 floating therein and supplies ink 100 in the ink tank 102 to a buffer tank 35 by means of a supply tube 36.
