PURPOSE: An automatic binding device for a reinforcing bar is provided to strongly bind reinforcing bars regardless of the number and thickness of the reinforcing bars by adjusting the length of a binding clip bars. CONSTITUTION: An automatic binding device for a reinforcing bar comprises a guide unit(100), a binding unit(200), a rotating unit, a rotating unit coupling member, a rack gear(500), a drive motor, a cover(700), and a knob portion(900). The guide unit has a guide path for receiving a binding clip therein. The binding unit transforms multiple saw toothed portions passing through saw-tooth moving grooves formed on the binding clip into a vertical portion. The rotating unit linearly reciprocates the rack gear by transferring a rotation motion from the drive motor to the rack gear. The rotating unit coupling member has a space for receiving the rotating unit therein. The rack gear changes the rotation motion of the rotating unit into a linear motion.
