PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device that suppresses the excessive temperature rise in a non-passage region of a small-sized recording material and is superior in uniformization of a temperature distribution in a passage region of a large-sized recording material, as regards a direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of recording materials.SOLUTION: An image heating device has a cylindrical belt 1, a heat source 5 for heating the belt, a slide member 3 coming into slide contact with an inner peripheral surface of the belt, and a pressure application member 2 which forms a nip part N with the slide member via the belt, and heats an image on a recording material while holding and conveying the recording material P carrying a toner image T at the nip part. The slide member has a first hole 7a off the nip part in the conveyance direction X of the recording material and at both ends h1 in a direction Y orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the recording material, and has a second hole 7b at a center part h2 between both the ends in a position more separated from the nip part from the fist hole in a direction opposed to the nip part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
